Education

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics or a related scientific field plus a minimum of five years experience of engineering level work directly related to stress analysis as listed in the Qualifications and Duties/Responsibilities below. Experience in Fatigue and Damage Tolerance a plus.


Qualifications

Must have the ability to support structural and mechanical design groups in various design phases for aircraft modifications or repairs. Must have experience with classical hand-stress analysis techniques. Must have the ability to develop free-body diagrams to support good load paths. Must have the skills to use NASTRAN, ANSYS or other FEM analysis tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for preparation of structural analysis reports and presentation of engineering data.


Duties/Responsibilities

The position will be responsible for the following: 1) developing and documenting loads applied to detail parts and assemblies; 2) supporting design efforts through analysis during all phases of the design; 3) preparing test plans and reports; 4) creating engineering stress, fatigue, and damage tolerance reports and studies; 5) Coordinating the activities of engineering, manufacturing, and non-technical personnel to assist in the execution of assigned tasks.
